Wherein Our Heroes heap sweet praise on the Canadian Premier League’s recently-unveiled logo and manifesto. Toronto FC come within centimetres of winning the CONCACAF Champions League, but now will have to grip their toques tightly to secure an MLS playoff spot. The recent Al Classico first leg in Edmonton proves that the Battle of Alberta is alive and healthy and bodes well for future derby matches. We (again) lament VAR use in MLS and (once more) make it known. Also, the wildest soccer fan in Brazil gets the craziest soccer tattoo imaginable – no more “shirts versus skins” for this guy!

John Herdman takes charge of the Canadian men’s soccer program after over six successful years in charge of the #CanWNT. Adam’s father weighs in on the change, as do we, and we are certainly having it. What we are not having is Sid Seixeiro’s recent rant on Tim & Sid. The Canadian Premier League names their first Chairman and Commissioner, a veteran of true Canadian icon: Tim Horton’s. The future bodes well for Les Rouges. This episode couldn’t possibly get any more “True North strong and free”.

Episode 87: Brendan’s Song

Wherein Our heroes devote an entire episode to a thought-provoking correspondence from Brendan. The Leftovers is hailed as a revolutionary moment for television, Sulley Muntari is praised for walking off the pitch in but one of a series of terrible instances of racism in the sport recently, and the Canadian Premier League gets a green light – with two confirmed clubs and hopes to kick off as early as 2018. Bastian Schweinsteiger throws some major shade by openly speaking about a gulf between MLS and the big European leagues. Also, friend-of-the-show Lev sends a note and meets us in the middle on our ongoing urination debate.
